They have really good appetizers - try the Cheese Fries - they are what I order every time I go! Great guy behind the bar explained it's slow and dont have the grill going. Have not been here in awhile but they changed names in that time, but the place still seems the same. Another complaint is customer service: I ordered four burgers with my groupon. We offer league play in darts, billiards and volleyball. There are sand volleyball courts outside where the girls were playing and the girls would stand in line at the service bar for soda even though they had service outside.
Like everyone else, I dislike - and find it irresponsible - that they do not make free tap water available. Some things are counted off and some are getting by with other refs. The old 'la playa' got a make over. . I haven't come here on a warm day to enjoy the pool, but hopefully I'll get soon! The food was good, and all of our guests had a blast.
I've tried food here in the past and it was good. We had fun anyway, but we all left completely sweaty after being inside all night. They have group rates and apparently it's free to play on Sundays. Same with their extension on the south side of Belt Line. The bar in the main room has a card area as well as pool tables. It makes you feel like you're at a beach! It's fun to play darts but overall it's dark and unfinished-looking, much less beachy and fun.
My friends and I play on a team of 6's on Wednesday night, but they offer several different options for play. Open play is typically held on the weekends, but I would call ahead to make sure. Make sure you grab a bucket of beer inside before you head to your court- there is usually only one waiter prancing around the courts. The bartenders are friendly and the food is pretty good. A perfect place to lounge or play with friends and family, plus the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I was hella surprised when I walked into a beautiful tiki style bar with pool tables and large screens with the baseball game playing. The burgers were salty when they came out! Lot's of changes will be taking place but which will make The Yucatan even better! I had so much fun I said I was coming back but then I was asked to play with them so I said great I have a reason to keep on coming for fun fun fun fun fun and should I say beer beer beer beer beer! The Yucatan is a fantastic location for happy hour any day of the week. They even helped me set up, created an awesome photo booth, and so much more. Don't let yourself get played out of a court. Second, this place is having a serious identity problem. We can organize a volleyball tournament for your staff or coordinate many different team building events that provide a great time for everyone! The team was very helpful from day 1, supportive and flexible until the day of, and was willing to bend backwards to make sure we had a good time. They offer a variety of drinks which are a perfect way to spend a week night.
I always look forward to coming here every week and will be sad when out league is over! The place was big with a few pool tables, darts and one ping pong table with a big bar inside. The bartenders were extremely friendly and made my friends and I feel welcome. I found out they are in process of being purchased by Lonestar located across the street but that appears to be a good thing. If you are new to volleyball, or your skill level is 'introductory', I recommend that you get there a bit early 7ish to ensure you claim a court. I told him twice and once more to the guy in the back. Other than that, bring your shorts, sandals and volleyball. The staff was not welcoming or warm.
They completely catered to my needs and I couldn't be more thankful. We are watching 12 and 13 year-olds walking through the bar to the restroom barefoot in the world's smallest bikinis with old men leering at them. That's really awesome customer service, guys. There were rocks everywhere but I see they have cleaned up some. Had a few drinks and the chips and queso. They offer game play for singles without a team which is a great way to meet new people.
They offer weekly volleyball leagues. When I walked in a was surprised to see pool tables, darts, n a bar, music playing as I continue to walk out to the courts another outdoor bar good seating and a pool. These are the only accessible-to-the-public courts I know of west of I-35E, and that's a real shame, because these are hands-down the worst courts I have found in North Texas. I chose this venue for my husband's surprise 40th birthday party. I guarantee you will get a good workout. Playing volleyball in the sand is sooo much better than playing inside a gym.
Regular bar food, priced reasonably. I threw a couple of curve balls at them last minute and they didn't even flinch! The best part is the lively scene the place fosters making it easy to get some great games! It's not the nicest looking place but does the job. Decent sand volleyball courts, and there are water misters between most courts. This venue and the team that runs it is fantastic! They have a full bar inside with pool tables and darts. The new owners did a fantastic job of transforming the bar into an inviting atmosphere.
This place is absolutely amazing! Nice super large projection tv to watch winter Olympics. Bf cut his toe on one of the rocks during a game. I like that they open late especially the extended summer hours. When I arrived to the place I thought it was odd, at some construction place really. For more information, visit Martini Park during business hours or call 214 473-6644. We may not have nice beaches here in Dallas but this place makes up for some part.
